To make it onto the list of world market leaders, companies must fulfill a number of strict criteria. The list of world market leaders is compiled annually by the University of St. Gallen. 

This year's award is even more special, as the current global challenges have led to a selection in the current ranking of world market leaders. The group of global market leaders in German-speaking countries has shrunk to less than 500.

According to the jury, companies like the Masterflex Group are "setting standards right now, inspiring others and significantly influencing the development of their industry."
