With a new take-back service for sample deliveries, Novoplast Schlauchtechnik is specifically strengthening the concept of the circular economy in industrial hose development.
Disposing of hoses - free take-back service
Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, a valuable part of the Masterflex Group, is adding a new, sustainability-oriented component to its range of engineering services from this year. As part of a new project, Novoplast is now offering its customers the free return of hose samples within Germany.
Circular economy for industry and medical technology
Circular economy is the future. The German group of companies recognized this early on and is transforming its business as part of the corporate strategy Hero@Zero, alongside other core pillars, in the direction of circular economy.
"For us, the circular economy is no longer just a promise for the future, but an active, strategic commitment. Last year, we presented the first cradle-to-cradle-capable hose innovations at the Masterflex Group. Today, we act as an active development partner and are already implementing C2C-capable solutions in the area of spiral and smooth hoses. Our aim is to consistently think circularly about industrial value creation," emphasizes Masterflex SE CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin.
Hoses, engineering expertise and easy take-back
The aim of the new take-back service is not to dispose of sample deliveries unused at the end of the test phase, but to return them in a controlled manner and reintroduce them into the material cycle.
"The delivery of a product doesn't have to be the end of the story. In engineering in particular, we see a special responsibility to consider the entire life cycle from development to return," explains Niels Mitzlaff, Head of Development (R&D) at Novoplast Schlauchtechnik.
Each sample is provided with a label including a QR code, which can be used to trigger the return easily and digitally. With the return service Novoplast Schlauchtechnik is creating a practical solution for customers who want to integrate sustainability into their development processes without any additional organizational effort. At the same time, the company is laying the foundations for further, recyclable service concepts.
